Revelations: Joey Graceffaa
Well, was browsing through YouTube, and came upon Joey Graceffa's new music video, "Don't Wait".
To all who do not know Joey, he is a YouTube personality. I came across him while watching the videos of one of my favorite YouTube personalities, Lily Singh, aka, Superwoman. Why? Well, I'm weird that way. Deal with it. (Seriously, check out their videos. They're awesome!).
So, I was watching this video, and the music was really good, and an engaging story. The backgrounds was really lovely. It beautifully depicted his inner demons, and as he grew older, he decided that these demons can no longer taunt him. There was his friend in the video who helped him as a kid, and when he gets older, his friend is caged and needed to be freed. The thing that is stopping is the monsters in his head, his dark side. He fought it, he finally said no to him that bound him, and the lock that caged his friend, the thing that he always wanted broke loose!
They walk hand in hand, and then the real magic broke loose. They turn towards each other, and as his friend lays his hand over his cheek, they kiss!
Yes. Joey Graceffa is finally out of the closet. I know that to most of you this isn't news, but looking at the response to his video, it's beautiful how almost everyone is so supportive. I mean, love knows no gender. I felt it sweet. Even though, I don't know much about sexuality, I think that things like this are normal, and in my opinion, it's not my business to fiddle around with others' lives.
And, in a nation as this, where being gay is technically a crime, I guess it's high time that we ought to realize that issues as this are real. I mean, they're humans like you and me. They deserve to live. It's one of their fundamental rights. Only if I knew more. But this I can deduce... The whole world decides to move in a progressive order, and we Indians choose to go backward. We still tend to hold on to outdated laws left by the British, when they changed them long back.
Can't true revolution come? Well, only when people start to think straight... Until then, we'll be this way forever.
Speaking so, I extend my full support to Joey, and well, to all my readers who have a darker side. You don't need to feel ashamed of who you are. Be proud of your identity. As Lady Gaga (My Mother Monster) decreed, We're "Born This Way"... Love should never have limits.
;)
Be proud of who you are, love.
